Pot/tub flowers

For you more experinced gardners I'm after some help.

OH has agreed to getting some tubs/ pots into the garden this summer as we've got nothing really apart from our 3 roses. One climbing rose, my 'Unconditional Love' rose and a rose in the hedge, don't ask it was there when we moved in

We want a bit more colour in the garden but OH won't have hanging baskets which is fair enough.

Anyone suggest some plants we could put in tubs/pots or window boxes? I'm flippin' usless at gardening and am surprised that my petunia's have survived. Which reminds me I need to take piccies of them so you can see them. Nothing much to look at right now but I'm chuffed to bits with them

For baskets, in addition to those above, fuchsias, ivy leafed geraniums always look good....

Hubby likes fuscias, I'll get one of them for him. He likes the pink/white ones.

The surfina petunias - which trail and trail and trail and trail are great as long as you keep the slugs at bay!

Not heared of them Hil, I'll keep an eye out for them in my local garden centre. Would they be okay in a window box?
