This is Kea and her story

This is Kea, who is currently based at our friends' holiday house in Normandy.

She is the sweetest, purriest cat you could ever meet. She walked in on them last year, when they were working on the house, hugely pregnant. Thay took her to the vet but it was too late to do a spay/abort, so she had a litter of babies which were either born dead or died soon after. Chris prolonged her holiday, to stay till she was strong enough to spay and see her through the op. Whwn Chris and Dave aren't there, she lives in the shed and a neighbour gives her the food Chris leaves, once a day.

I'm pleased to say Kea was microchipped and had her rabies jab yesterday and will be emigrating to Britain when C&D return from their Christmas/New Year visit to France.

Edit I forgot to tell you she got her name because dave was swearing at some Ikea self-build furniture when she arrived.

Re: This is Kea and her story

She is so sweeeeet.
The really sad thing is that there is another, very young cat (maybe 7-8 months) trying to come in the house, who has a round tummy and obvious nipples ........... They are having to harden their hearts but she is a sweetie too.

Good job the rabies laws are so strong or we may have been coming home with a stowaway hidden under the wine in the boot!

Oh bless!!! Kea is lucky to have found such a kind hearted home!!! I'd struggle to not find a little chink of love or at least a warm corner for the newcomer though

But it would be never-ending Yola I didn't realise the 'paysans' were so, um, er, can't think of the word/expression, um, shall we say "different" in their attitudes to their animals. We saw lots of dogs chained in sheds/kennels day after day, too.
