Career change question

I wonder if you could all help me with an idea I've got. Many years ago I trained as a graphic designer, now I want to use that training to move out of running my predonimently non-creative business and re-train as an interior designer.

Thing is, I want to specialise in nurseries/children's spaces (bedrooms or playrooms). I want to do something other than all the TV characters or trains/princess castles that are available off the shelf, but something that will still fire up children's imaginations and give them an amazing space of their own.

My question is . . . would you take on the services of an interior designer specialising in babies/children's rooms? Obviously if you hypthesise on the basis of it being something you might be in the market for in terms of (a) having a child of target age (0 - 12) and and (b) having the funds to engage an interior design professional.

I would look at developing a series of 'packages' that would suit most budgets so the objection of 'can't afford it' could be readily overcome.

Any feedback appreciated . . . thanks

Re: Career change question

That sounds as a very interesting and fun choice!
I'll have to plead complete ignorance in the interior design business, though, so may not be worth much as a "quit your day-job" reason. : /

Re: Career change question

That's a really interesting concept; I have to plead complete ignorance about both children & interior decoration, but it does sound like an interesting niche...hope someone can come up with some good suggestions!
