Been to the hospital with my daughter (yes again)

This evening my 2 daughters went for a walk with their friend & her mom & a few other people. They went for a walk & stopped off at a pub, whilst they were there - the girls were playing in the play area & Ashleigh (my eldest who's 9) tripped on an uneven slab & put her hands out to break her fall. They brought her back & she was quiet & felt sick, her hand was hurting, so we took her to the local A&E. They x-rayed & she's broke her wrist. They've plastered it (with proper yukky old plaster, not the new posh stuff) I have to take her back to the fracture clinic on Monday - looks like she won't be back to school on the first day after half term & I won't be back to work on my first day back after my week off.

PS - whilst there we saw a guy who had 3 staples in his arm & 3 in his leg. Not from an every day stapler, but from a big industrial wood one. It was gross, he said he was in town & someone just did it to him just came up to him & stapled him....how bizzare.

oh Poor Ashleigh. I hope she isnt in too much pain, that it settles quickly.
Wonder if they'll put one of those posh plasters on then she can choose some trendy colour she likes
LAst time i broky my wrist Ryan chose for me, had pink to start, then blue then purple ( i was in plaster for three months all tolled)

Hope she soon feels better, and dont forget sweeties and ice cream make broken bones heal faster, as do new cd's and magazines

Re: Been to the hospital with my daughter

Thanks DM & CJ. She had a good sleep last night. There were no technicians there last night, which is why she didn't have the "fast setting stuff" the nurse said only the "plaster technicians" use it as it sets really quick. When Ashleigh broke her leg last year, she had white, then pink, then purple. When we go on Monday the nurse said they will redo it in the fast set stuff, but to be honest, it looks to have been put in a decent position, so if the doctors are happy on Monday - then i think it may be best to leave it. At least we were in & out quickly, when she broke her leg, we went up the hospital at teatime on the Sunday & didn't come back for 3 days!

Poor Ashleigh, when my daughter broke hers, she started off with the boring white plaster then moved on to all the bright colours x

These things happen when you least expect them too - sending her big hugs x

Poor Ashleigh The girls are having a bad run recently aren't they Really hope she feels better soon. Bet given the choice, she would prefer a pink or purple plaster
