Daily thread - Friday 9 th June

World Cup starts today! How long before we are bored with it - goes on for a month, you know?
Another beautiful day, cloudless and already somewhere around 18C. Farmers market shortly, then wait for the call to go and collect Min. Not sure whether to expect to hear early or not, so I guess that means I will have to sit in the garden till I hear!
Babies are doing fine - think Bentley may have monkey genes - he is an excellent climber. Many recommendations for the climbing tower. I've never had anything like that in the past but it is great, and they already use it enthusiastically to have a good claw!

Re: Daily thread - Friday 9 th June

DM - I'm bored with the World Cup already

Morning DM & everyone. I'm at work as I did an overnight duty. It was quiet so got a good sleep in.

I'm working this morning & we should be going away this weekend in the caravan, but have decided we probably won't go now as we have got lots of things to be doing at home.

Have a good day.

Aw - so Bluebell doesn't get her caravan trip! Won't be long though, I suspect?

Re: Daily thread - Friday 9 th June

Baby bird is still alive! after rescueing it from Violet and Mazy (next door neighbours kitten) I have put it in the bush - not sure if its stunned or hurt but no blood.

Any ideas if it will survive???

I'll add a pic to the photo section, looks like a baby sparrow to me. x

DM - lots of luck at the vets today, I'll be thinking of you!

We're off to the seaside for our 'day out' shortly. Cuckmere Haven/Birling Gap in East Sussex; the beaches at the base of Beachy Head!!

I can't wait as the weather is looking glorious outside . . . even hubby seems cheerful today

See you all later

Re: Daily thread - Friday 9 th June

sadly they don't often survive. But a few hardy souls do, and you have done your best for it. Just leaving it somewhere reasonably secluded is best now. Nature will take its course - he will survive, or he wont.

(Did you see that nasty baby cuckoo on Springwatch last night? If birds can be that awful (or so it seems to us) to each other we shouldn't feel too badly about our cats just acting naturally)

Yep saw Spring Watch, I know what you mean about Nature etc....Ive placed it high up in the bush - so hopefully it may survive or if not, like you say I tried my best.

Thank you x

Re: Daily thread - Friday 9 th June

I would put the bird into a box and keep it quiet for a bit it might just need to rest at least that way it can rest without being attacked again. Maybe even try taking it to the vets I know most vets will treat wildlife free.

They do normally die though - I think they suffer from shock quite badly
