All you bunny ladies out there....

I have had Pickle vaccinated against myxi and HVD(?).

Does he need anything else ie.

neutering (was thinking of rescuing a speyed female)
fleaing (goes on the grass when I am nearby).

Many thanks!

Re: All you bunny ladies out there....

Hi Donna.
You mean VHD, Viral Haemorrhagic disease. I only have ever had mine done when boarding them. Re neutering, it was the worst thing I could of done to my dwaft lop, his coat was ruined, he got matted, his back end was dreadful, I had to cut off the fur every week it grew so thick and fast, I personally would never do this again except if it was imperitive. Reason I had it done was a dominance thing, mine kept grunting, running at me and the other animals, spraying at us and biting, did cure it.

Never had a Rabbit with fleas in all the years I have had them so cant comment on that, except to say is it necessary?
Dawn.

Re: All you bunny ladies out there....

Both my boys are neutered as they used to live together. I haven't found any change in coat or otherwise since neutering them. It is probably not necessary to have him neutered if he is either going to be the only rabbit or you take in a speyed female. I have never needed to flea treat my rabbits and they have never had ticks either. I have never vaccinated any rabbit that I have had but then I have never had to board them either..
