She's saving them for a rainy day? Yes, quite a problem, that. They're not the easiest of animals to catch, and you don't want them moving in. Temporary taping-up of cracks under fridge etc. and an empty cereal-packet on the floor? It's how I managed to catch and evict a mouse that had strayed in from the garden and couldn't find its way out. I just herded it towards the box (dark and narrow, the one I found) which was the only obvious hiding-place left over and then lifted the whole thing up and emptied it under a suitable bush in the garden. |

My Smudge has started catching "things" again recently too. In the last fortnight she's had about 5 birds, a frog & a few mice. I wouldn't mind but she just plays with them! Yesterday she had a mouse & took it under the caravan, this was a game little mouse & he kept running off, she'd let him go right into the hedge before she'd get him back & she got him, every time without even trying. How do they do it? Oh & Bluebell nearly caught a fly (yes only nearly, but she's got plenty time to learn!) |
