Oh no, India, not another one !!!

Since the warm weather arrived India has been spending her days outside, she has found lots to interest her, BUT her latest pleasure is mousing - as many of you may know India hasn't any teeth so what she catches she cannot despatch. Soooo... take them in as a present for 'Mum'., I am beginning to dread her return from the garden, accompanied by her little friend, which she then drops and it shoots off under fridge, washer or whatever. I have a horrible feeling that we are going to finish up with a colony of field micein the house. I'm only thankful that she hasn't started to bring rabbits in too, we have so many in the garden, but at least they would be easier to catch than mice. Roll on wet weather then she will stay in. Logoes.

She's saving them for a rainy day?
Yes, quite a problem, that. They're not the easiest of animals to catch, and you don't want them moving in. Temporary taping-up of cracks under fridge etc. and an empty cereal-packet on the floor? It's how I managed to catch and evict a mouse that had strayed in from the garden and couldn't find its way out. I just herded it towards the box (dark and narrow, the one I found) which was the only obvious hiding-place left over and then lifted the whole thing up and emptied it under a suitable bush in the garden.

Re: Oh no, India, not another one !!!

My Smudge has started catching "things" again recently too.
In the last fortnight she's had about 5 birds, a frog & a few mice. I wouldn't mind but she just plays with them! Yesterday she had a mouse & took it under the caravan, this was a game little mouse & he kept running off, she'd let him go right into the hedge before she'd get him back & she got him, every time without even trying. How do they do it?

Oh & Bluebell nearly caught a fly (yes only nearly, but she's got plenty time to learn!)

Worms.
Mine have never brought a worm home, not that I've noticed anyway.
