cat nip help plz

Can anybody help me with my catnip plant?
It is now a nice 2-3 feet high, and I wanted to pick just a few leaves off.
Do i simply chop them up and sew them into the toys i make? Or is there some process I need to carry out?
thanks!

ps, hubby and i spent about 3 weeks thinking " the catnip plant hasnt grown but there's a large weed there I must pull up" to discover this nicely growing weed WAS the catnip plant!!! LOL

Never had a catnip plant, but I would have thought you crush the leaves and put them into a bag, or grind them...Someone else may have more idea...

I just pull a few leaves off and give it to them - some love it, some don't. Molly tried to play with hers, Tom and PEbbles just ate it!!

I've always dried the leaves, then crumbled them with the filling so the catnip dust stays put.

I think you should dry out the leaves first, then use them if it's for inside toys etc.

Mine go mad around the catnip plants - we got 2 new ones last week & Smudge almost ate one before we even planted it.

Yes dry the leaves. Airing cupboard is fine - this weather they will dry out just sitting in your kitchen.

They will play with (or eat) fresh leaves. Not too many!

You can also dry it slowly in the oven before using it.......
