Just some boring stuff I thought I'd waffle on about

No real reason, just wanted to whinge lol.

Anyone remember this cross stitch pattern I bought a while ago?

Been looking all over the house for it, wanting to start it. HAve been unable to find it.
Spoke to hubby on phone at lunchtime and he tells me he threw it out the other week, he thought i wouldn't ever get around to doing it, so there was no point keeping scrap paper laying about!

Anyway,I decided to start the other one i have of apersian cats head.
Cost me £21.80 in threads, and that's not lncluding the ones I had in my box already.

Goodness knows why I need 3 diff shades of mahogany, and terracota, and one of orange for a cream persian cat!!!!

I am going to look out for a decent programme to turn my own photos into cross stitch patterns.I did get one cd but it was a bit pants.

Also decided I am going to get some portraits done of the cats, thought they would look nice on the wall in the hallway. Along with the cross stitch pictures ( eventually)

there, waffle over!

lol shame hubby threw out that cross stitch, why do they always do something like that? They have enough of a moan or a whinge if we throw out something they wanted to keep.

I've threatened hubby that unless he sorts the big box out in madams room I just gonna chuck the whole lot out on the weekend. He hasn't opened the box in 4.5 years

The colour's for the nose-leather pehaps?

Next question: And with a house full of cat, when will you have time?
Between kitten-watching and taking photos to appease us, I mean.

Really like the idea of the portraits of your cats. Bet that will look really good.

I enjoy your "waffling"; always interesting to know what others are up to! I can't do cross stitch, but do crewel & gros point..are you going to try to return those overpriced silks? Are you on the list for one of Emma G's portraits? I find needlework very relaxing: when I worked in the suburbs & took the subway I finished 3 dining room chairseats!! Passed the boring ride nicely!

Am I going to try and return the overpriced skeins, why not!!!!

I'm not on emaa's list, I figured she has tonnes to do already, and I do have rahter a lot of cats now lol

it is very relaxing though, apart from when the cats nick the thread and run off with it, and the kids are touching it all lol

Hi! Crewel is embroidery with 2 ply yarn, usually done on linen; gros point is needlepoint done on a stiffened piece of canvas whch is sort of laid out on a grid so you pull the wool through the little holes to cover the canvas. Petit point is the same except that the holes are so tiny you can almost go blind doing it....I DON'T do petit point! You see a lot of kneelers in church here done by the altar guild ladies...I am not one! Crewel was very popular in Elizabethan times when people had bed curtains, and here in our Colonial period; nowadays its mostly on pillows, bell pulls, etc. Probably more than you wanted to know..!!!

I think i'll stick to my cross stitch! The others sound too hard for my little brain to cope with lol!

Still annoyed at hubby, and I let him know it. He doesnt even actually live here anymore, so that makes it even worse.
ANd he hast seen the kids in two weeks, but couldnt come down sunday just gone cos it was his nieces second birthday! But he see's her everyday of the week just about, and he didn't even come to see his own som on HIS second birthday, and didnt even send him a card. But he can't see why i am a little upset at him!

But woops, i "forgot" to post him a fathers day card, or get the kids to ring (he forgot mothers day too, and both of our two wedding anniversiaries and my birthday!)

anyway, off tot ry and take mt over priced skeins back today!
