Strawberry Glut!



help - 18lbs and still picking! Making jam this afternoon - and

digging up some of the plants before next summer and replacing

with July fruiting variety!

No need for the courier. The jam will be fine for regular snail-mail.... Good idea to spread the cropping over a longer period, even when it involves digging.

Blimey - well done DM.
Mine are just coming in now. But don't think I'll have 18lb In fact I'll struggle for 18oz. But soon there will be lots hopefully.

4 neighbours with a good heap of berries, 6lbs of jam made and a crowd of kids came collecting for th local Community Centre last night, so they went away happy with £2 and 2lbs of strawberries to munch on their mission!
Wonder what I'll find today?
There are the first of the raspberries and tayberries ripening off I know ......
