Take really good care of yourself and try to get plenty of rest. A colleague at work had shingles a year or so back and it really knocked her for six.

Re: why i ahve been feeling under the weather lately

thank you ladies.
To be honest i really DO feel run down, mouth full of ulcers and sore bits, tired, headache, sore itchy etc.

but at least i know there's a reson for it, and it will go away soon enough.

Shame hubby had left before I found out ( was waiting for doctor to call when he had to leave) cos i might have been able to milk it and get him to stay longer lol.

though I doubt he would have taken time off work to help me with this kids just for this.

shame, cos for the first time in the five years i have lived here, i had been invited to someones house tomorrow, to watch the footy and have a few drinks.
I was quite chuffed and looking forward to it, but they got kids too, and i best stay away.
I can scream at the tv on my own I am sure lol

Carly, did you have chicken pox as a child? It is my understanding that the chicken pox virus "hides" so to speak in the system and re-appears in adults as shingles. My Dad had it; it's awful; calamine lotion used to be the treatment recommended, but I wonder of some of the newer medications like Cortaid or Benedryl might be better at relieving the itching...? Just a thought. You poor thing, (((hugs)))!!

I was curious after posting the above & went to Google. If your friends kids have had chicken pox, they're OK; if not, they CAN catch it from you, although they say not too likely if all the lesions are covered up. Guess you will have to shout at the TV by yourself!

Re: why i ahve been feeling under the weather lately

Dm, yes i had BAD chicekn pox as a kid, still bear the scars. Not all my friends and family kids have had chicekn pox, elliot ( my own son) certainly hasnt.

I am just keeping away from people as much as possible in case.

Must say I feel SORE today lol,but given a few days am sure i'll be fine

I ahve the claamine lotion in the fridge to make it extra cold, boy oh boy is that lovely stuff, SOOOO soothing! And have been taking piriton.

Just have to ride it out. I dont mind, i can sit in and watch the footy today, and do soem cross stitch once i finish the housework.
At least the constant runny nose is subsiding a little

Re: why i ahve been feeling under the weather lately

My mum has just got over shingles Carly and the nurse at her surgery advised her to use Calamine cream instead of the lotion as it penetrates better. Might be worth trying. The fact that you are so low at the mo will have contributed to you getting them as stress can play a big part in catching them.

So start looking after yourself better. Definitely get yourself, on your own, to some cat shows and relax. Hubby has golf so I am sure he can watch the kids now and again for you. Auntie Kay has given her orders.

<stands to attention
<salutes
"YES AUNY KAY MA'AM"

ryan is around a mates house playing and thenw atching foory, and elliot splaying me up soemthing rotten, but is looking tired so i'll put himto bed soon.

No offer of help from hubby who lives 45 -50mintues away, but good old mum, who lives way up north in geordie land, has offered to drive all the way down to help. And she's registered disabled and has angina and arthirtis!

(dont think i could put up with her anyway lol)

If i still got this rash when i next feel up to walking to the shops (20mintues walk on a good day) I'll get some of the cream.
For now am just rubbing chilled lotion in and sponging down with cool water (yes I know some would frown ont hat but it's soothing)

Cat shows should be on prescritption lol
