Cacti help please?

Always loved cactus & yesterday at our Gala Day I saw a stall selling plants. I spotted some tiny cacti. I bought 3 (all different varieties)they are in teeny weeny pots so I thought we'd repot them into a more reasonable sized pot. Anyway - we don't know what to put them into. Anyone know? They are currently in a type of sandy/soil with bits of gritty stuff in it.

Cacti compost is the best, don't repot them into too big a pot, just one size bigger...

Re: Cacti help please?

Proper cacti compost, great stuff. I'll go to the cacti compo shop tomorrow. They look lovely little things - but aren't potted very well, almost look like they've been plonked into their pots & they are wobbly. So I asked John if he'd take them out & redo them & thought we'd just use slightly bigger pots. But when we came to do it, we weren't sure what to put in the pots.
Thanks for the advice girls.

Smudgley, when you repot them, wrap them around in newspaper so that you can handle them.......otherwise you will get a handful of irritating prickles in your fingers!

They are the teeniest little cacti in the world.
One is slightly prickly.
One is furry.
One is soft. (he might not even be a cactus)

Oh yes & the 3rd one lost half of his "things" (like leaves - but not leaves)between me buying him & getting him home, although he had been rattling around in my car in a bag with a million & one other things from open day, so I think he did ok really.

I think I'll have to get some photos for you.
