Washer Dryer Recommendations please

Well - my 9 year old Bosch washer dryer has just about conked out. I've spent about £3-400 repairing it over the last few years and don't want to shell out any more.

Does anyone have any good recommendations for washer dryers . . .preferably ones that can take a larger than average load?

Thing is - I need to get a replacement quickly so ultimately will be limited to what can be got to me within a week.

I have separate wqsher and drier now, but the washer is a Bosch, and it's ten yrs old and no problems, you could do worse than replace your Bosch with another one if they still do washer/driers, just check its "Economy" rating before you buy. Logoes

My Mum has a washer/dryer. I wouldnt go near them. Sorry. They take so long to dry. I guess it's because they also have to dry the inside of the machine as well. I would get seporate if I were you. Only my opinion.

Are you buying on line? Comet delivery is 2-5 days. Curry's site is more informative but I didn't see (only a quick look) what their delivery is like.Sometimes it is quicker to have a look in the shop and then order on line !!! Logoes

I don't have the space for separate units Jac, otherwise I would seriously consider it! It would mean sacrificing my dish washer at the moment and that ain't gonna happen

I don't mind whether I buy on line or not, but I will want to see the machine 'in the flesh' so to speak prior to buying just to gauge build quality. I was going to have a detailed browse tonight once Dominik's in bed. I also need whoever delivers to take away the old one too - I know John Lewis will, so that's a deciding factor also!

Happy with my bog-standard Indesit - think it's about 8 years old now - maybe more. It moved house with us too.

I used to have a washer /dryer. Now I have a seperate washer and dryer. I agree with Jac as I would never go back to having a combined machine now I have had seperate ones. Not much help to you that is it?

Some Councils charge, others don't. Ours took away my old cooker and freezer without charge. Ask them. Logoes
