Welcome Alfie

Alfie (was to be Huey) came to join the all girls clan on Saturday 7th July. There is Rosie (cat) Holly (Lurcher) and myself. He is 10 weeks old and completely black. It has been a miraculous week purely by virtue of the fact that I had envisaged all sorts of problems on the introductions as Rosie and Holly are 9 and 10 years respectively and also the fact that Holly is a Lurcher but miracles do happen and within 24 hours Holly and Alfie were curled up on the soffa together and within three days they were all eating together in my very tiny kitchen! Rosie "tollerates" Alfie at the moment but is getting more curious and providing Alfie doesn't actually touch her she doesn't seemed too bothered. He is a very lively and brave little chap which goes in his favour but I decided on an "in at the deep end" approach (obviously with Holly under restraint) and it seemed to work as she quickly got used to him running around and the novelty wore off, whereas when he was in the spare room she sat behind the door shaking and whinning incessently. He is eating very well and using his litter tray. He is getting the message that he cannot sleep on my bed at night (this is Rosie's domain and I don't want her nose to be pushed out). Holly has actually gone and slept with him for two nights.

I would love to post pictures but can't do it from work but will let you know how things progress.

Re: Welcome Alfie

That's all sounding great!
I prefer Huey but hey - if you've got him home and he's an Alfie then Alfie he is!
Enjoy him!
