Absolutely unreal! Just a little under SIX months to go & started already! Much as I enjoy Christmas, I don't want to start thinking about it when it's in the eighties (F) and the first frost is months away!! I've been getting fall garden catalogues for weeks (just did a thread), but that's a little more understandable. Guess they want us to start spending our money EARLY!! |

It is a nightmare! Last year I decided I was going away with the animals for christmas! I am going to rent a cottage somewhere for 7-10 days. Somewhere with a big log fire, nice local pub, good dog walks!! It will be alot less stressful and more enjoyable. |

Mags, as to suggestions: know it isn't very imaginative, but I personally love to get a gift certificate for places that I usually buy from, especially Amazon. Most of my friends pretty much have everything they want already & are dreadfully difficult to buy for: I have sort of solved that by buying pre-potted amaryllis from White's Flower Farm...they are pricy but absolutely magnificent...every year I ask them if they're tired of the same old thing & they say NO, NO, we look forward to it every year! And I order nuts from a firm that sells the most delicious enormous pistachios and cashews...my foodie friends like them very much. (I order some for me, too ) |
