Felix - Update

well Felix still hasn't been caught and I think the cat register people have given up trying just now - they haven't been here for a few weeks now. I totally understand there are probably more cats out there in more need and at least I am feeding him.

Two days ago I had a massive break through and he came right up to me and let me stroke him. He now sits at my feet while I put his food out for him - but he won't let me touch him while eating - he tenses up and his breathing becomes very forced and he will hiss at me if I do. I don't want to attempt to pick him up until he is more ready I can't afford to lose the trust that he has with me. He won't go any where near my boyfriend though and he only comes to me when I call him.

Poor cat has so little trust in humans it makes me cry - and he has now lost two chunks out of his ear
The good thing though is I will be able to get some flea treatment on him when I feed him and get some worming treatment into him as well.

Fingers crossed I can get him in before winter.

Good luck Emm I'm sure you'll get there. Patience is the key I think. Poor wee man. Makes you wonder what has happened to make him so cautious of people. thank goodness he has you.

Re: Felix - Update

thats what the cat register tried to use - he actually went in it and when the trap came down he managed to get out of it - they said it was because the food was too close to the door and his body wasn't in enough - but after that he scarpered for a few days and never showed up when they were around.

He is now every day sitting right at my feet eating his food. I am going to wait until he doesn't flinch at the slightest movement then I'm going to pick him up and run inside - I will make a pre-booking for the ER before hand

Its a bit risky Emm, grabbing a Cat, you could be ripped to bits. How about borrowing a cage from the local Cats protection or rescue and leaving it where you feed him?
Dawn.

As the saying goes, slowly slowly catchee monkey - or in this case kitty.
Patience can usually win even the most fearful cat round eventually, and it sounds like you have just the patience this littl`un needs.
Good luck with continued progress, and well done you for helping him
