Special thoughts for my good friend serving in the fire department in Maine. He didn't attend NY, but lost many good friends. He wrote me the most wonderful response to my note of condolence - I didn't keep it, wish I had - but it boiled down to 'I'm a firefighter; it's my job; 300 firefighters lost/3000 civilians led to safety - good result'. Thinking of you today Gary. |

A sombre day indeed. My friend (the one with the New York banker hubby) worked for Goldman Sachs - her hubby still does. Their NY offices were in the WTC, they lost many good friends and colleagues. Even if you weren't personally touched by a loss the enormity of the event is such that you FEEL as if you were. My thoughts are will those whose relatives didn't return from work that day |
