Oooo - good luck Moli!! I think the key thing is to tread with tact. Some people are obviously totally unsuitable and you have to find a roundabout way of telling them this - however DM is right, sometimes homecheckers can get a bit 'power crazed' and start dispensing advice, passing judgement etc . . . I know our co-ordinator has had to have a quiet word with one or two of ours. However, if you already do this for dogs I imagine the principles of homechecking remain the same just the criteria will change a bit. |

I would say the same go carefully. I can't even get the local CP league to respond to my offers of help. So God knows how I would fare in a homecheck. I also have two Staffies (as you know) and they can be a little boisterous when new people come in I think thats another reason I wonder if it would be better to have a homecheck now just in case so to speak so they can see how the dogs behave around Cleo - respectfully. Because I am not sure anyone would believe otherewise how gentle they are around her. So I would say first impressions may not be the right ones but your gut instinct would be the way to go. I've babbled to much. Karen |

These people had been out, bough, dishes, a bed, toys everything a cat could want.. With the dogs, if I would feel happy leaving my dogs with the people, I am quite happy to let them adopt, same with the cats... Only once did I stop someone from getting a dog. |
