Identification, what do you use?

Out of interest, what identification does your Cat possess? Collar, microchip, tattoo? or any combination of these or others.

Can you state why you feel they are best suited to your pet or yourself.
Dawn.

My god I did it!!!

I voted 5. Wiggy only has a chip, wont tolerate a collar, all others have collars and tags, Moose will be chipped when he is neutered.

Re: Identification, what do you use?

Cassie has always has an identity disc on her collar, then this year I decided to get her microchipped as well........after 9 years!!

She still wears her disc on her collar as I think it is a first step to identification if needed. The chip is always the back up if anything serious happens to her.....

Re: Identification, what do you use?

They were done almost 13yrs ago Luke, I wouldnt do it again, its not clear enough and quite painful for a Cat as their ears are so thin.

Not Connor it didnt no, couldnt make any of it out once he had grown. Hounds, Gsd's seem to do well though, but dogs with hair in their ears dont.

Re: Identification, what do you use?

Okay I voted microchip collar and tag but this was when they were younger the collar and tag don't count now as Cleo never leaves the house/garden.

But the microchip was no trouble and I would suggest these to everyone but a visible form of ID is a collar and tag. Although Oz lost more than I ever found.

The boys will be chipped on Friday.
Mini has nothing.
I am not keen on collars

Microchip only with mine.

Moli used to wear the 'safety'collars but she kept losing them when she was out so I don't bother now.
