I have never followed the 'one tray per cat plus one spare rule' and haven't really had many issues - the one in my bedroom is the favourite, and 3 of them choose to use it, despite there being one in the bathroom next door - I have one in the kitchen for the first time in a couple of years, and it is getting a fair bit of use now. |

6 cats 2 litter trays which need cleaning twice daily, but no problems. (one of the cats will only go outside though) And they seem to use one tray for number 1's and one tray for number 2's |
