Re: Fireworks

I hate fireworks!! Glad Cleo is not too bothered by them. Have to be so careful with pets and it is not just the one night is it? Goes on for ages it seems.

Re: Fireworks

I don't mind the fireworks maybe because none of mine have ever been bothered by them. The cats were kept in once school was out, ie darkness descended; Oscar was allowed out in the back garden under my strict supervision (as he wouldn't use a litter tray)
The dogs don't give a toss. But I agree fireworks go on for too long we should only be allowed to buy them the week prior to 5th Nov and no loud bangers. Rant over.

Re: Fireworks

I've heard a few. As long as they restricted to large displays they are lovely, but I hate the loud bangs. Caleb is not bothered by them, but Beauty our foster dog hated them and the cats are not too happy with them either. I agree they go on far too long.

Re: Fireworks

No idea what my kits will be like. Broxi was ok last year, but we moved in december last year and our new house is 5 mins away from the land where they hold Telfords big public display each year, so will have to watch carefully over the next few weeks as it all builds up.

Re: Fireworks

It's not so much the cats who don't seem to bothered these days. It's the fact that Dominik is terrified and screams the house down when they go off.

Round here we have ramadan, diwali AND firework night as well as halloween and they all seem to be an excuse for loud bangers and rockets going off and all hours

yep the downside of living in a mulit cutural area too many festivals all at the same time, and we have a jewish center up the road, and when they have a celebration u cant even get your car out as they block up all the roads.

Re: Fireworks

Have heard a few round here, we always keep the cats in at night around this time of year, everyone seems to do their own home displays, the cats don't like it.

I used to love fireworks, until a few years ago I was at a home display, the biggest rocket was saved until last and the garden wasn't quite big enough to be at the 'safe distance', it was lit and it didn't take off, it got stuck in the launch pipe and exploded on the ground, I ducked and a piece of firework flew over my head. That has made me pretty nervous about them, the following year I went with my younger brother to his playschool firework display, the little kids loved it, I was so scared I stood at the back lol!
