I don't really subscribe to Halloween; not in its re-imported form anyhow I get a bit snarly if people knock on my door but we tend to get overlooked as (a) not many kids live round here and (b) we're set back from the road a bit so don't often get noticed. And anyway, the kids are do live round here are too busy knocking off shops and mugging grannies to bother about trick or treating Today I don't have anything planned except some ironing and a looooong stint in the shower I need to phone my Mum as she sent me a postcard with a goose on it with huge apologies for questioning my parenting skills - silly old bird!! I'm a very happy bunny as can now fit into one of my nicest pre-pregnancy skirts (did I tell you this yesterday? apologies if I did, but I'm so pleased about it), so even without any exercise at all yet, the belly's obviously going down. All cats have been flea-treated this morning and are looking daggers at me and at each other. Siwwy kitties |

Very unwitchy weather today: sun and 72 F!! We rarely get trick-or-treaters in my neighborhood,,,the nearby elementary school usually has a big Hallowe'en do which keeps them occupied. The last of my bulbs came yesterday so took advantage of the gorgeous westher and got them planted; hope they survive the squirrels!! Happy Hallowe'en, all! |

I must be the odd one out here I like Halloween think its nice. I think I've said before a fair few houses in my Croft dress up the houses and its a big get together maybe because most of the children are known no one takes the Michael and everyone polite. Cleo has been a little quiet today a little under the weather - no specific reason just not to good, but has been most interested (as always) in the trick or treaters the little children say "Oh look the at the lovely cat" Cleo obviously recognises this adoration is meant for her and then starts to purr happily. and when she miaows I say "Oh yes" to her and the little kids (under 14 it seems I can sucker this way ) say "what did she say" and I say "She said what a lovely costume - or - she is a prett girl etc etc" surpirising how many children round here now think Cleo can talk |

Well most of the street seems to Mags, and never get unattended children either all with a parent or 7 the dogs seem to remember halloween this year to and stopped barking after approx door ringing No 11. (ie very early evening) Everyone very poilte and at one point I had to go out for 1/2 hour so left a note in the sweets bucket saying "Help yourself back in a minute on the phone" came back 20 minutes later to find 6 notes saying "Ta" and still sweets in the bucket - kinda good eh. |
