Enjoy life is short

Last night saw a lady who does evenings at my work. Works 7pm -1am she said she was coming down with the flu, and looked kinda poorly I said "You okay Den" she said yes just the flu. Tonight she did not come into work, unlike her; but thought she's come down with the flu.
Just had phone call from the night manager to say he'd just been told she died at 6.30pm this evening had a heart attack.
She was a lovely lady Denise, 35 wife of a paramedic (who could do nothing) and mother of four smashing children boy 14, girl 11, girl 9 and boy 7 next weekend.

Such a terrible shock, so enjoy every moment. RIP Den

Re: Enjoy life is short

Scary or what? Poor family

If I can go back to the title of this thread - Have you ever had a 'Damascus' moment, when you realised the truth of Kazz's advice? I have. I remember it distinctly. I could even give you the exact date, if I went off to google. It was the day (night actually) just before one christmas when the plane fell out of the sky onto Lockerbie. The sombre aviation correspondent on the TV newsflash said 'this is a non-survivable event', the newsreader spoke of people on the ground and I turned to my OH and (using these words, I remember, please excuse me - not my usual vocabulary) ***k me - if you can be killed any day any time, sitting in your house, knitting, cooking, watching TV, wrapping xmas presents, you should live every day as if it could be your last. If you want to do it, and it's even half practical to do it, then do it. You might not be able to tomorrow.
I've tried to live like that since, not to get angry with people, not to harbour grudges, not to put things off and ..... just enjoy life! No pockets in shrouds you know.
