Perhaps you could have your children instead of the friends? I am sure real friends would understand that your children's happiness at Christmas is the most important thing? |

That's a difficult one for you Kado Has you ex had anyone in to have a look at his cooker? It may be something simple that needs renewing. My cooker broke down a few weeks back, someone came out in 5 days to repair it and now it's as good as new.... |

For the sake of 'peace on earth at Christmas' I'd invite the ex. But of course it does depend on how good and neutral the relationship between you is . . . after all - a row on Xmas day will help no one. Let's face it - even if you live in a small flat, just get loads of cushions down on the floor and have a chilled out Xmas lunch - no need for formalities and sitting at the table - the kids will appreciate it and (probably) so will your friends |

get him to go onto a site called freecycle, and ask if anyones got a cooker they dont want, some ones bound to have one, then just a case of collecting it. |

Don't stress and don't expect to do a 'Good Housekeeping' christmas - it only works like that in the glossy magazines! Enjoy it. |
