Are you one?

Just wondered how many of you have a donor card my new one has come through I registered online - just had to reconfirm with my family thats what I want. Such a good idea.
A friend commented today that there should be a change to the law to say you are a doner unless you opt out? think that may be a little harsh any opinions?

Didn't know you could do it online.

JMHO, but I agree with your friend. There are too few donors as it is. Wonder how that would work with children though?

I agree that it should be opt-out not opt in.
And I carry a card, and I'm registered onlone and I give blood.
I was redistered with the Anthony Nolan Trust for bone marrow donation but the age cut off for that is 40, which seems daft to me but I guess there's a good reason

Re: Are you one?

I'm registered as well. I used to give blood, but with the arthritis and such and all the medication I take, I don't do it any more. They can have any part of me they want that they think will be of use. My OH is too, but doesn't want his eyes messed with.

Re: Are you one?

I carry a donor card, they can have whatever part of me they want. I do feel that if Hippie or Random are not comfortable with that, they should be able to tell them no. I won't be alive to know it, but if they are uncomfortable with my organs being donated then that's fine. My primary concern is that they be able to grieve as they feel is appropriate if I should die.

I am registered as an organ donor, they can have whatever they want! I used to give blood but my blood sugar drops low quite often and I used to pass out, so I stopped!
