Dog owners lead healthier livesNo great surprise I suppose - because of the getting out and meeting people? Here's the article if you'd like to read http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/6279701.stm

I would definitely agree with this DM. Our dog IS our social life!! I love taking him for walks and we know most of the other dog walkers on our 'regular' walks. Once a month we go on an organised walk with other 'pointy' dog owners and have a great time. Someone privided hot choc and coffee, someone else choc bars and several bring round treats for all the dogs! Last week-end we went on one of the walks and there was 30 people and even more dogs. We had a great time! Link to thread on the walk. There is an awful photo of me carrying a poo bag! http://wlld.proboards62.com/index.cg... 84401&page=2 |

Fab pictures Kim! Is that you with the big wellies walking besides a chap with the most beautiful shaggy white lurcher? It's a nice pic of you (maybe without the poo bag!) Nice to see a very pretty white staffy walking with the pointies too. |

If I didn't have dogs, I wsould not have so many friends, I certainly would not be out walking in all kinds of weather, and I would probably be a different person altogether! |

That's a pretty broad generalization: I have been a cat owner all my life. and am blessed with extraordinary good health...great blood pressure, OK cholesterol and rarely if ever sick...probably in the 99th percentile healthwise for people in my age group,,,,! One size doesn't fit all..... |

In this link I am the one in the 3rd photo, (with the poo bag! ) I'm with another dog, Jack, not mine but I offered to help by walking a dog owned by a man who has 5 dogs plus a foster!! The last photo in this link shows just how big the group was this time. There are more photos of the white staffy too! http://www.richardlindley.co.uk/whitelodge/walk10/index.htm |

That looks like so much fun! Do you keep them on lead just because there are soooo many? Also - I have an excuse to post pics of our Danny. Left us nearly 3 years ago, with cancer in his shoulder. When he was very young (well, maybe 3 or 4) Soon after we got him, anyway and, on discovering the sea, much nearer the end of his life - not as bright black and white; shades of grey! |
