A story, about six years or so ago..it was a very long summer and a big group of us were doing what children of our age then should be doing, and playing over the fields every day from breakfast time to when the sun went down! One particular day, i had m'dear Polly with me and she was furrowing around for rabbits when i heard this big spitting noise..cut a long story short some fool had set a snare trap type thing and in it was a black juvenile, probably about 4/5 months, kitten caught in the trap by the tail..we got the wee man to the vets and eventually his tail had to come off and he was left with a stump, it was also quite evident that he had been feral born. Luckily a lady at the other end of the cul-de-sac, her children were some of 'the big group' playing the day the kit was found, decided she would take him on..lack of tail to boot.
He was named Bailey and soon settled down, he's a big chap known well locally for his hugeness and lack of tail, and he always comes visiting..had the camera with me today and thought i;'d get a few snaps.
He's a lovely lad, still quite reserved with people all these years-but deep down he is a softy!
