Managed on for a bit.

Gosh It's going to take me a week to catch up!!

Well things havent really gone to plan. Were not in the house yet (living there)
We were told we had 5 days to reoprt any faults to the seller.
Day 1 we noticed two cracked windows. The seller said that he bought the house with two cracked windows 4 years ago. The survaiour (sp) didnt pick up on them, if he even went to the house! So we have no come back with the seller. Possibly the survaiour, dont know. There was also a bit damp in two cupboards, tough we should have asked for the cupboard to be emptied . Comes under "buyer beware".....seemingly.
The washing machine has been swapped for an old wreck but we have no photo's of the one that was there so again tough and the cooker has been condemed by the gas board. (were getting a few bob for that as the seller said it was tempremental)
The carpet we bought was 4ft too short . Took the measurements from the survay. The new corner unit sofa wouldnt go through the front door . I had to go and pick another suite. (which got in) It is far better as it reclines, and I'm really pleased with it .
The main thing is...... I have my health, my friends and Catsey .
all these things are sent to try us. Hehe some more than others. Talk to you all soon.
Jac xx

Hey Fran it's me! Par for the course .

Its the first time I have actually cryed at good news. Both My Mum and me left in tears. People watching must have thought we got bad news, but it was good.
I was also sent for an ultra sound, on the day. I was a bit worried as the consultant had drawn on me and found a lump under my arm. It turned out to be a lymph gland and fatty tissue on my breasts. Phew.
I would like to thank you all for your support. Cheerse guys.

Glad to see you back Jac, albeit briefly! The things with the house are annoying niggles but hey, your family's together, your health is better than you thought a few weeks ago and all these annoyances can be sorted, coz as you say - nothing's straightforward

Oh dear Jac - sounds like quite a drama.

I know that things are slightly different in Scotland, but I'm a property lawyer here in England (a licensed conveyancer) and am happy to have a chat with you if you need me!!!

"Buyer Beware" is generally the principle that applies, but if you have had a survey and searches undertaken then you should be able to rely on those and have some come-back. Particularly on your surveyor. Did you have a Homebuyers Report or just a Valuation Survey? The cracked windows and damp should have certainly been noted in either case.

Fingers crossed you get it all sorted and get in there soon.

Hugs to you (((( ))))

Lovely to hear from you Jac....

Sorry to hear you are having problems with the house, sounds a bit like when I moved here, but hey you have your health and family so that has to be more important.

Take care , Julie x
