kalamancas


My local RSPCA have got various cats in at the moment that they refer to as "kalamancas" does anyone know what this means as I cannot find any referene on the net?

I put 'kalamanca' without the 's' into google and it didn't come up with much, except this:

which I assume is your local branch? It does mention them on there, but isn't really much help I'm afraid!

Maybe there Kalmacat's. When you pet them they Kalm you bring the old blood preasure down ect.

What is the origin of these queer expressions I DB BRIGHTWELL. KALAMANCA CAT8.—In Lancashire tortoise-shell cats are called kalamanca cats. I couldn't get the link to copy, but it was in an Amazon book review; found on Google!! Now we know!
