I used what they call Park grass up here, its the seed the farmers use for the fields, you can also get canada green, or velvet green it grows very quickly...... |

Mmm, one with rye grass I think. But if you go to a garden centre or nurseryman you will find there are a lot of different mixes around, for various uses and situations. You could ask what they recommend. I think there's one with Canada in the name which is meant to survive all sorts of pet/child/football abuse. Good luck! |

I must say we have no grass now. Have paving, decking and gravel with stepping stones, plus things in pots and a couple of large planters, so it doesn't look 'bleak'. I love it. No constant work, no muddy footprints and the cats and the staffie can have fun there any time, even if it's raining. |
