Garden-to-be

As I have a small City yard, always do my seeds in little pots, as I don't do enough to warrant flats...this is probably a silly pic to post ......I have to carry 25 of them each day from the South facing window to the West one, to get the most sun and than back again! The tomatoes are looking well....

Re: Garden-to-be

Not a silly pic at all !

Its lovely to see what everyone are planting etc.... I am not a gardener myself infact my garden is a shambles at the mo, but even I was looking at some home grown plants someone was selling today in a village I went to - and had visions for them.

So its lovely x

That's hard work for you Eileen, moving all those pots round daily!! But must be well worth it when you see the results of your labour

The loving care that you give to your seedlings will pay off in the end Eileen!

Re: Garden-to-be

Yes, home-grown tomatoes with real flavor, fresh basil for the picking...I like to start my own seeds as you can get varieties that are bred for flavor, not for ease of picking and transporting across half the continent! Even in Summer, the store tomatoes don't have that real tomato flavor...I'm partial to European varieties that emphasize taste ! And Leia is very helpful at the twice-daily moving, she winds around my feet ...

Re: Garden-to-be

Very bad photo to post for those of us who don't have any windowsills any more....

Nothing beats home-grown veg. I'd trade a drawer-full of sweeties for a couple of ripe tomatos. If I had the sweeties and the option, that is.
