Moli - re scratch post

This might not work for everyone...some people wouldn't have a convenient place to put it, or no access to wood, but....what about a real tree branch? Years ago when the arborists were cutting up a dead tree for removal on our street, Carolyn and I both retrieved a big branch for our cats...they love it! Mine has been scratched on by every cat since I got it. This actually lives sort of horizontal to the floor, but had to move it to get a good picture...and Leia came to see what I was doing with her scratching post! It doesn't show up too clearly in the pic, but it's well scratched! Chancer having been a outside cat might like it....just a suggestion...

Thats a great idea dandysmom!

When we move to a bigger place, we are hoping to make Oli an outdoor pen and did actually discuss the idea of giving him a 'real' branch to scratch.

Brilliant idea Eileen, I have some in my cat pen which is sadly coming down, might suggest to hubby about bringing one of the branches indoors

Re: Moli - re scratch post

Thanks, all! All my cats have loved it, and it really doesn't take up all that much room!

And some other good things about a branch: it's "green", it's free, and if you get tired of it you can saw it up and use in the fireplace or a bonfire..
