The decking area..phase one.

Welltphase one of the decking area that was for the mothers fiftieth, has been complicated. Lovingly laid by the carpenter/bricky/general handy man hubby of a cousin of mine.
Was a big problem with the ground and how it lay etc..so took a while.
The decking is in pace..the big arbour has had the legs 'cut to size' on one side so it branches OFF the decking-it really works well.
Phase two-the whole bottom half of the garden [pictured[ shall have some slate, i think, laid down and lawn edging put down to 'define' the garden into two halves..
so eventually the scratty bit of lawn poking through will be gone too.

Bella seems too approve anyway

That looks excellent Luke really really good I assume you fill be blocking off the Cat Tunnel?
Are they decking tiles? they look really smart. The big arbour looks like it was made for the corner. Excellent.I got rid of the grass and the best move I ever made,

Re: The decking area..phase one.

Thanks both.
Kazz-cat tunnel will be blocked, both the little urchins have been under them making me gasp at times this evening!
They are decking tiles..and it was all brought as a kit type thing from B&Q, was quite reasonable too..i forget the final figure to be exact.
The grass was to go last year..but we had rabbits & guinea-pigs still then so it wasn't appropriate, but now they've passed away..its all coming up..there's another circle of lawn which will eventually be 'changed' but not quite sure how yet

I think it's absolutely stunning, Luke! What a lovely place to sit out and enjoy the garden...makes me quite envious! I had flagstones put down in the front replacing the grass...best garden idea I've ever had!

Oh that's looking really good Luke. I'm green with envy. I'd love decking, but not for a long while I'm afraid. I too would love to get rid of my grass, there's just too blasted much of it in mine lol!

Re: The decking area..phase one.

Your garden would be great for decking Alex I would do yours almost in sections decking at the immediate back from the house going to where the rabbit hutch and playhouse are maybe giving you a really good sitting area extra room to the house even. Maybe even put a pergoda from the house coming out to give you some shade with a climber coming up.
Then your grass with the border (the one you have now which is coming on nicely) then the top border (where you want to put in) then immediately behind that the upper area where your hubby wants the fish and shed etc.
