It's awful when something so pivotal is destroyed. And as you point out Eileen, so many memories as well as physical artefacts are lost too Fire terrifies me *shudders* |

They're going to re-build, but it will take forever! Childhood memories: as I said, I got my children's card there at 6, and have gone all my life. All those books and historical records of Georgetown destroyed...my bus went past it his morning, and it is just a burnt out shell! And I knew all the staff there, they're displaced now...such a sad event... Will have to go to one of the other nearby branches, but they're a much longer bus ride.... |
