Cassie was on adult food from about 4 months old. I took her to the vet one day because she had an upset tummy, the vet asked me what I fed her on, I told him Whiskas Kitten food and he said it was far too rich for her and to put her on adult cat food... her tummy problem stopped almost immediately.. |

Specialised 'kitten food' is quite a recent concept (When I say recent I suppose I am thinking 20 years - sorry all you young people who think that is ancient history! ) Before that, they only had plain adult food, in very few flavours. Cats survived then! No it won't hurt Shadow if he eats grown up food (and as Mags sort of hinted) it might be less rich and make him less smelly. Sorry I can't remember when I gave up kitten food for my boys .... about the 7 month mark maybe? |
