My Mom's Ice Box Cake recipe

Moli's cheesecake recipe sounded so good, it prompted me to dig out this old recipe that my Mom used to make:

1/4 lb. sweet chocolate
3 tbsp. water
3 tnsp. sugar
5 eggs

Melt chocolate in a bowl in a pan of water on the stove. Add egg yolks one at a time, beating very thoroughly after each addition. Eggs should be at room temperature. Last, fold in the beaten egg whites. Pour the mixture over split ladyfingers or sponge cake and let stand in the fridge for 24 hours.

This is delicious, it is sort of like chocolate mousse! Haven't made it in years.
