Daily Thread/Thurday

Morning all,
Its a gorgeous morning here, hope it lasts.

Have just got back from walking the dogs,it started of lovely but then we had some lady come mouthing at us!!!
We\were just heading back to the car when we bumped into 3 other dogs and their owners so we stood there talking while the dogs were playing, next thing we know this woman turns up out of nowhere and startes shouting at us saying I would appriciate it if you would all keep your voices down, its 7 in the morning and you are waking us all up!We all appologised because we didnt even know there was a house there (there are 2 over the far side of the valley, but didnt know this one was there cause its hidden behind loads of trees and bushes),she obviously didnt accept it and carried on to say,I would like it if you came over here and just be quiet She was so rude! By this point she had got all the dogs barking, one of the other dog owners had had enough by this point and said well I tell you what we will all call our dogs back using whistles shall we?She didnt know what to say to that and walked off,not before getting in one more time for us to all be quiet.
I couldnt believe it,I was soooooo mad

Anyway rant over, hope you all have a lovely day

Re: Daily Thread/Thurday

Not a great start to the day Erin
Maybe the stars are badly aligned today - I started it by missing a step coming down the stairs and doing the last 3 ricocheting (?sp) off the walls and bannister and ended up on my bum. Many bruises and feeling a bit 'shook up'. Ho hum. And all without the aid of alcohol Actually, it's a bit of a dramatic reminder that the carpet + socks is not a good combination. Shoes or bare feet in future.
Well, you'll not have the pleasure of my prattlings for a while now. MIL arrives shortly and it's off to Devon with the grannies (plus 2 dogs) tomorrow. Heaven knows what the weather will be but we'll just get on with it anyway. No sunbathing, I think
So, have a good day, and good week, everyone.

Re: Daily Thread/Thurday

Morning all, lovely sunny day here. Making the most of it before the expected floods this weekend Still caotic here with many roads still closed and diversions throwing the city and indeed our village into a frenzie. Tom is still on the bus with not much hope of getting to school in the near while

Not much planned, one or two errands to run later when the morning taffic has calmed down somewhat.

DM - ouch!! Hope your aches, pains and bruises don't put a dampener on your week away. I do hope you manage a good time despite the predicted weather.

Erin - get yourself a calming cup of coffee and take some deep breathes! Hope the rest of the day runs more smoothly for you

Enjoy your day everyone

Just plucked up courage to look at the bruises .....

Fran - I do hope, if we have to have more downpours this weekend, that they land somewhere other than your area - middle of the sea would be good.

Morning all, it's a lovely sunny day here at the moment but I doubt it will last....

Nothing special planned for today other than household duties.

Erin
~ sounds like that lady managed to get out of the wrong side of the bed today. Hope you are relaxed now!

DM
~ Sorry to hear about your fall......I too have learnt that socks and stairs do not go together!. Hope you all manage to have a lovely time in Devon next week and the weather brightens for you.....

Fran ~ I hope the storms aren't going to be so drastic in your area this weekend

Have a good day all!

Blimey Erin - there's no need for that woman to kick off . . . all she needed to do was ask . . . once

DM - I hope you're OK. Thing is you feel such a pranny when you do something like that, get OH to rub arnica onto the sore bits

Fran - I too hope that the weather is forgiving in Sheffield in the coming days. It's truly terrifying watching how a major metropolis can be rendered totally useless by water. It makes me realise now fragile the world WE'VE built up is when compared to nature.

I'm in the office, bashing through stuff. The mad panic has died down a little, but we're still busy. Having to sacrifice some of my day off tomorrow to whiz up to Swindon for a potentially super-hot new business meeting; it's a recommendation which bodes well

Low-carb curry tonight for dinner

DM; ouch! Hope the bruises aren't too bad, and that you have good weather!

Fran: still thinking dry thoughts for you!

Alex: how unnecessary, all she had to do was say politely "the noise is disturbing us; perhaps you didn't know we were sleeping" and you all would have apologized and left...some people just have to make a big emotional scene! How very annoying!

Cloudy and still warm here, about 33C predicted again today, with the usual threat of t'storms. They missed us here in the City yesterday; it is very, very dry! The weather is weird here also: drouth in the Southern states, torrential rains and flooding in Texas and Oklahoma...my Friend Carolyn there has had almost 20" of rain!! Has rained for days!

Did my usual marketing and am off to feed the furries and have lunch.......enjoy the rest of the day!
