Who's cats have been microchipped?

After reading that story about the cat being re united with it's owner 10 years after going missing I wondered who's cats are chipped.
Caspurr is an indoor cat but he will be getting chipped. Accidents do happen easpecially with small children leaving doors open. No matter how often we shout close the door!

Re: Who's cats have been microchipped?

My two are micro chipped but what worry's me is that alot of vets dont scan for a micro chip unless specifically asked to, so if some one were to take Bernie in, unless they take him to a vet and ask them to check for a micro chip, I may never see him again.
Hopefully that will never happen as we do keep a close eye on them.

Both of mine are chipped, although they do stay indoors when we are not there they do go out most weekends.

Mine are not - keep meaning to get it done. Chloe has 24/7 access as she hasnt wandered at all, and can use the flap.

Misty has access outside when I am around as she still cant use the cat flap and does wander from time to time.

Happy with both arrangements, although MUST book them in for micro chipping!

Both of mine are microchipped. They come and go via the cat-flap during the day. The vet didn't check their chips when they had their boosters last December, must remember to ask him to do it this year. I'm relying on a working chip to identify them if anything happens, and I don't know for sure that it is working.

All mine are mirco chipped. Had kado and guinness when they was castraited and kay when she was spayed. Simon i had to take back and have done when he was awake he didnt even cry. They are all out door cats but its just incase they go missing least you give them a chance to for them to be returned to you.

All 4 of mine are micro-chipped and the dogs too. I think it is very important to get them done.

Re: Who's cats have been microchipped?

Microchipping is much more common in the UK than here; for some reason vets never suggest it; none of the seven cats I've had over the years are/were chipped. Leia is not only an indoor cat but is also scared of outside, so I'd never considered it. Perhaps on the next vet trip I'll discuss it with them. I agree it's an excellent idea!
