Daily thread - Saturday

Morning everyone, no daily thread yet .......are you all having a lie in this morning? Well this is the first one I have started for months so it makes a change

After a cloudy morning the sun has decided to show itself but by the look of the surrounding clouds, it won't be there for long! Hope it stays out long enough to dry the washing.....

Have been out and completed the trolley dash but had to wait ages at the check outs ..........why, on a Saturday when they are always very busy, do they only have half the check outs open?

Not a lot planned for the rest of the day, may get out and do some weeding this afternoon...

Re: Daily thread - Saturday

Quiet here today!
Well, I've taken advantage of decent weather and the absence of my OH to have a good session at the allotment. Lots of crops coming along now, together with lots of weeds, so there's plenty to do. Anyone have any ideas for using 6 cucumbers? I've given some away, will give more tomorrow but there's still going to be quite a few left. Cold cucumber soup - not one of my favourites. Actually, they are a very nice ingrdient in hot dishes such as stir fries - peel, cut lengthways, scoop out the seeds with a spoon and cut into thickish half-moons. Cook for a short time, so they keep their crispness.
So, I've had a bath and hairwash, so i can have a lazy afternoon.
Hope everyone is having a good day, that the poorly people are feeling better and the naughty cars have been mended.

Re: Daily thread - Saturday

Afternoon all!! I have a few hours peace and quiet woo hoo! lol! Kids have gone to their guides district day and Robert has gone fishing! Glorious silence. Been and picked up a fantastic wardrobe off a fellow freecycler for Hayleys room. Can finally get rid of her old one (the door keeps falling off and attacking her lol)
Mags your post reminded me to go and put a washing on lol, so hopefully the nice wind and sunshine stays here and I can get 2 loads done and dried. Hope everyone has a good day!

Re: Daily thread - Saturday

Afternoon all.
I had unexpected visitors last night. Very nice change.
Derek is Ant hunting and winning I'm pleased to report.
He's off out tonight, glad it's him as I'm still rather sore and cant sit for long either. That's why I'm not on for long realy at the moment.
We have had rain, drizzel, wind and a little sun here so far. It's very muggy too.

Re: Daily thread - Saturday

Another beautiful sunny day here; did the wash yesterday so that's over with; did my usual library run. Nothing special laid on for this afternoon. When I got home, Onyx was sitting in a chair in my patio having a wash-up!!! And no camera, of course! She's getting more relaxed by the day woo hoo!
Mable: I adore shortbread! Nothing like it with a nice cup of tea!
