He's slate gray with a black cap; one of the mimic thrushes (like the mockingbird). Both sexes are the same color.

Indeed he is, Moli! He has a beautiful lyric song, but can also make a noise that sounds exactly like a cat mewing! I've been fooled myself by him a few times over the years!
I think he's the great great great grandson of the one who started nesting in my yard years ago! The little fledglings are so cute when they are learning to fly...wouldn't take the cats out in the garden until they could!
