Smudgley

Smudgley did any of your possible rehomers turn up this week or were they all missing in action?

Re: Smudgley

Hi Kazz..
Lots of cat news here actually.

Oscar has been rehomed, bless him. I took him to the lady & he was happy & confidently exploring the place whilst we signed him over.

A lady who had been home checked, came & viewed Cara & reserved her, then called to leave a message to say she doesn't want a cat after all. So she still needs a home.

Star is well & has been spayed & will be going back to the lady who found her in a couple of weeks as the lady is going away soon. One of the kittens went, but the other 3 still need homes.

I had a new cat in, she's torti with 2 torti babies about 3 weeks old, they were found outside a community centre. they are lovely.

I think I mentioned I wanted to ease off a bit as I'm going away so I decided I wouldn't have any more in, until the lady called me to say an 87 yr old lady has 2 kittens she can't cope with, I don't know any other details (I presume she found them) so I said I'd have them in Waiting for them to arrive.

I've had yet another girl want to come & do some work here. She came to meet me today & seems keen. She is coming on Friday 10am - 2pm to socialise the cats & help me do some jobs.

Re: Smudgley

Sounds as busy as normal.

87 and two kittens - yes I expect they have turned up and stayed.
The torties sound lovely I am getting a soft spot for Torties it Cassie's fault and Mag's for posting her piccie and yours of course...
Cara will find the right person, one who is worthy of her.

Do your other assistants still turn up and help?

Re: Smudgley

No other helpers come to socialise the cats.

There was the lady who was totally & utterly unreliable, saying she'd come & not turning up time & time & time again. I haven't heard from her for ages.

There was the 17yr old girl who was really nice & came to meet me, then came to play with the cats & stayed here for 4 hours, grooming & playing. I didn't even get her to do any yukky jobs....she's not been since.

This girl came with her mom & mom was very chatty & the girl has expressed an interest in all animals & asked me questions about the cats. She asked if she could help me clean the pens as well as handle the cats. I told her I would be having a good cleaning day on Friday - in preperation for my holiday & that I'd be pressurewashing everything & she asked if she can help. Sounds good eh?

I do have a lady who does my vet trips now - which is a real help.

I also have a lady who lives in the village who comes round when I'm away.

A lot has been happening! This new helper sounds keen, I do hope it works out this time and I'm glad the lady is still managing to do the vet runs for you

Re: Smudgley

Wouldn't it be great if we all lived near Smudgley - we could have a rota for helping out!
(We'd probably all have at least 6 cats though! )
