I caught a neighbour lifting his hand to Eva

Decided to relax in the sunshine late this afternoon and read. Bernie was on my lap, Eva was on the wall and the sheets were flapping in the breeze. Lovely.
Then a guy came out from the next building, started crashing around in his shed. Eva jumped off the wall, I didnt think anything of it as all my neighbours know me and the cats. She had walked over towards him and as the sheets rose up in the breeze I caught him He raised his hand, took a swipe at her and made a vicous Tssssk kind of noise.
I am not sure he even realised I was there, I jumped to my feet, called Eva to me and told her to come away from the nasty, bad tempered man. He looked at me and stormed into his building.
Seriously wanted to go after him and give him what for but didnt. Spoiled my lovely afternoon in the garden as i was so angry after that.
Graham came home from work and went spare when I told him. I told him that at this stage we shouldnt make too much of it as we dont want to encourage the guy to make a point of trying to hit one of our cats, or any cat for that matter.
Graham is all for breaking the guys legs but agree's with me and will say nothing for now anyway.

I know and beleive me I felt like it too but felt it best to remain calm especially as Eva would have got herself upset if she saw me go off on one.
I think at this stage its better not to encourage people to go out to purposefully hurt any of my animals as I am not always in the garden with them to watch out for them.

Gosh Elaine, how on earth did you restrain yourself?? I'd have gone absolutely up the wall I agree that you don't want to make things worse though. Poor Eva, she didn't need or deserve that

Some people!!
I think the fact that he knows you saw what he was doing, Elaine, is enough to make him think twice about doing something like that again...

Re: I caught a neighbour lifting his hand to Eva

I think I was really taken by surprise at first as my neighbours know me as the mad cat lady of Fraser street, most have or have had cats too. There are one or two who dont really care for cats but know me and mine, we dont bother them, they dont bother us.....
This is the first time I have witnessed anything like this and hope I never have to witness it again but if I do I will tell Graham exactly which flat he lives in and Graham can go break his legs
Eva is fine i hasten to add as he didnt actually strike her, if he had then i think I really would have gone mental.

Re: I caught a neighbour lifting his hand to Eva

I hope he wont try that again... I have caught my neighbours pushing my cats off the fence that is between the two gardens..... annoys me at it is MY fence so technically the cats have a right to be on it....

Hope your neighbour thinks carefully before doing anything like that again..
