Wobbly Specs

Last week I went into my opticians to make an appointment for an eye test and also to have a little repair job done as I had lost one of the little plastic bits that sit on your nose.
Anyway today my specs were erm... very wobbly when i was trying to clean them that I thought they might snap. So went back to the opticians today, the recepsionist took them and looked at them, now please bare in mind I cannot see with out them, everything is a blurr.
She said that they werent wobbly and it was my imagination . I said no you are mistaken coz they are very wobbly. She said again that I only thought that, I am now thinking is she stupid or am I?
I said again and spoke of the repair that was done last week and she said that thyey were fine.
I asked her to hand back the glasses so i could show her that they were loose from the bridge part and moved NOTICABLY. Oh dear she says, oh well we will have to send them to the work shop for repair.
I am sorry I said but you cannt do that until I have another pair coz i cannt see with out them.
She then started pointing out the problem which ofcourse i cannt see as she has my specs. I say this with some humour to her but she carry's on trying to show me any way. I dont know whether to punch her or laugh hysterically so i do the latter and tell her that there is no point in her showing me coz i CANNT SEE
At this time the optician comes out, I explain to him and he told me to take a seat. He came back in 5 minutes and they are fixed.
Pointless story but I thought I'd share coz it made me laugh.

I seem to be using the expression "it boggles the mind" a lot here lately, but what else to say! A funny, but sort of sad story...what part of "I can't see!" didn't she understand......

Thanks for the laugh Elaine. I've got the optician's tomorrow, I hope I can have new lenses in my current frames as I really like these glasses and in any case I don't want to spend the money on new frames.

Thanks for posting Elaine!

Can understand what you mean about being without your glasses, now that I am getting used to mine! I can see without mine, but can appreciate the difference when I wear them, so can imagine how frustrating it must be if your glasses are a high prescription and you CANT see without them!
