Re: Daily Thread/Wednesday

Morning all, cloudy and overcast this morning. I've actually put the heating on for a short while to warm the house up I'm off to the vets soon. Ruby is going for her hip/elbow X-rays done. It'll be a few weeks before we get the results as the X-rays are sent to the BVA who have a panel that sits only once a month I think and they go through all the ones that have been sent in and score them all. So a nail biting few weeks for me!

Hope you all have a lovely day

Morning!
A little better here, though hardly high summer
Have to do a severe vaccuum/damp dust ready for my cat-allergic BIL who'll be staying here tonight, with my Sis, ready for the early ferry tomorrow. (Motor)Biking in the Dordogne - lucky them. Hope the wind drops, it'll be a bit 'interesting' in the Channel if it doesn't.
Fran - is Ruby going to be a brood bitch if the scores are OK? Or has she a problem? Sorry, I don't remember hearing anything about her being poorly or anything.
Have a good day everyone.

Re: Daily Thread/Wednesday

Am exhausted today! At 10pm last night Dominik fell out of bed, I went up to him and he promptly vomitted in spectacular fashion all over me, his rug, carpet, himself and his bed (think 'Little Britain' and you've about got it)!

So have been up 1/2 the night stripping bed, cleaning, washing, then washing the vacuum cleaner and both him and me and then having him sleep in our bed wriggling like a little eel!

He's a bit subdued today poor love

Apart from that, sun is shining intermittently and there is a strong wind so all should dry nicely on the line (dryer's broken ).

Sorry, I just expect everyone to understand Labradors should have their hips/elbows scored by the BVA if you are considering breeding from them. The scoring indicates how good their hips/elbows are with regard to dysplasia. Only low scoring dogs should be bred from and the way that the BVA do the scoring is to examine xrays of the dogs hips/elbows. So this is what Ruby has gone in for today.

Re: Daily Thread/Wednesday

Ah yes, I knew about dysplasia Fran, and hip scores, (I had a work colleague with a dog who was very bady affected. I think he had a new hip ) but I hadn't twigged that Ruby was destined to be a brood bitch. So ... hope the scores are reaaaalllly low!
Well, my house is sparkling now - the queen can visit if she likes, particularly if she is cat-allergic. Actually, I wonder if she does like cats - never hear anything about her having any and it mightn't be very cat-friendly with all those blimmin corgis around.
The recycling truck has just come round, thank goodness. I hate recycling on a windy day - I've been out 4 times to retrieve other peoples' papers and plastic bottles hurtling up and down the road in the wind.
Yola - hope all is calm now. I remember a couple of occasions like that .... first proirity to wash and dry poor 'Fluffy', who always appeared to be in direct line of fire

Morning all,

So windy here and so miserable today - winter is on its way!

Leaving work at midday and then at home with the children for the afternoon.

Thats about it for me today.
