Friday's Thread!

Here we are at the end of the week I have to type quickly coz Sebi's going mental in his playpen and I have to take him out!

At home today. Washing machine repair people coming AGAIN! I think we're getting to the point where they're going to need to look at a replacement machine, the dryer function is jut not working properly **

Will take Sebi out in the pram shortly for a walk round town, later need to go food shopping and drop the pendulum off at the clock menders (took the weight last week by mistake - doh) so he can put the final touches to repairing the mechanism on our long case clock. Will be nice to have it back working again

Good news in that my car arrives at the UK Audi dealer in Huddersfield on Monday and should be with me on Wednesday - yeeehaaa!!!!

**Edit to say they are sending senior AEG engineers out week after next as they have no idea why it it still not working properly . . . there are no error codes showing! I have to say, AEG are very good - no horrible call centres and people that listen and DO things!

Re: Friday's Thread!

Morning Yola, enjoy your walk round town. great news about your car. My vehicle has finally been ordered, but I don't think it will get to me this side of christmas.
Today we have a big volunteers day at work so I'll be there all day. then on the evening there is a social gettogether for staff with a pig roast & fun & games. Rounders with the Breeding centre V the Training centre etc. I'll be there all evening, but only because I'm on phone duty overnight, so I'll be there for phones & doing some work in the office.
NOTE TO SELF - MUST TAKE PHOTOS OF CATS & HAMSTER FOR CATSEY!

Smudgely - do you have dealings with the Guide Dogs people in Wokingham (the penny's just dropped that it might actually be part of the same organization that you work for)? We have done lots of translation and typesetting for them in Indic/community languages - most recently for the big Midlands event that got cancelled due to the floods.

Yes Yola. That's the very same Guide Dogs
The National Gala day that got cancelled is a huge event which takes place a mile away from where I am based & todays little volunteers day is a little version of that, as the volunteers have an award presentation which obviously didn't happen, so today they will be getting presented with their awards.

PS - Our head office is in Reading

Re: Friday's Thread!

Morning all
Well last day of school for a week, trying to make the most of it but really have no enthusiasm today.
Got the doc's in a bit for my Meds.
Before I know it, it will be time to go back to school as it's Friday and they get a half day.
Oh Darryle got paid off from work yesterday . they said work was drying up but he has been off work for two weeks with fractured toes. His boss called him while I was there and said he didn't take kindly to staff being off. He bullied him into going back then paid him off

Morning! (just). Bit of a misty murky morning but still quite mild. Have been to the farmers' market and had a coffee in town. Postman has just been for the first time in ages. A huge amount of rubbish and one package OH was waiting for

Re: Friday's Thread!

Afternoon from chilly Washington! Not much warmer than yesterday, 14C, windchill 13...winds are howling, but at least it's sunny....and still no rain..
Marketing done, nothing planned for the day.
Yola: good news about the washer and car!
Jac: that's awful about Darryle! "Pig" is right!
