My new job dairy

Well i started at 7.30am came in had a brew and got to work.I started by putting the dogs outside in the runs and then we had to feed all the dogs.Clean inside their kennels, and get them all ready for night time, they have all got treats and toys inside their kennels. And fresh bedding. Then i washed the pots, and washed their beddings.

Then i took some people round to see the dogs. Its my first day and i have managed to re-home one dog a crossbred dog lucky just waiting for the home check to be done.

I got called out to go and help a member of staff pick up 3 staffys that had been left inside a house and they are in very poor condition. That was quite a channellage one of the staffys is very vicouse it tryed attacking me.Got them all now the other 2 are very friendly but the 3rd one has ring worm-very bad case of mange so we had to put it down i didnt do it thank god

Now im just having my dinner and relaxing.
After dinner its my turn to take most of the dogs out for 1 hour walk and run

Cannot understand why that staff was put to sleep because it had ringworm and mange.....I have worked with staffie rescue, and many of them had those conditions which can be treated....
I was lucky in all the rescues I met not once did I come across an aggressive staffie...

Sounds like you've had an exceptionally busy morning Amanda!

Do you go home for lunch or do they allow you to use of their computer?

Funny that I was thinking the same. I have also helped Staffie rescue, NEVER ever been bitten by any dog.
I also find it a bit strange that they would send a new girl to such a job on her first day . Not very fair of them. When I was in the kennels it was only experianced staff that would go to jobs like that.

Poor boy.....I have met a few ex fighting Staffs, and they were luck enough to be able to be homed as family pets eventually....I had one for 12 years and she became a fantastic family pet...

Re: My new job dairy

I know but hey the more expeience the better.I think its because i have so much experience. Not to sure iam ok with it though so

I finish at 5:30pm Im already shattered the dogs all jump up you and its hard trying to get the dogs out of the kennels they go nuts the older ones are easiyer,

But its something i love and i wont have it any other way
I used to have a staffy he was called jay and he was from a resuce center he had been very badly treated and he turned out to be such a loving dog.
