Daily Thread / Wednesday

Morning all, nice dry day here again if not a bit coolish. I have a friend coming round today, haven't seen her for 6 months or so, so it will be lovely to catch up We think we had a prowler/prospective burgular in the garden last night, Tom heard strange noises outside about 1.30 this morning, I think Tom getting up to alert us disturbed them but things have been moved in the garden. Strange thing is though that the dogs didn't bark Will be keeping a close eye on the situation.

Anyway, hope you all have a great day

Fran - that's scary

We had odd things going on last night too! I had to get up to Sebastian at about 2am as he was crying a bit. Balie was on the foot of my bed as I remember stroking him as I got back into bed. Then a couple of times in the night I heard scratching. Sometimes he scratches my bedside cabinet lightly; but there was no sign of him.

This morning, I went to the top bedroom next to Dominik's room and Balie was shut in there! it was the bedroom door that he was scratching!! Now, I left the door ajar when I checked on Domi at about 10.30. So how did Balie get shut in there????

He was quite wet on his underside, but I didn't see any pee in the bedroom - most strange. He'd pooped in the corner or the bedroom, but that cleaned up easily as it was a dry one (phew).

So do we have ghosts or is Dominik sleepwalking he's adamant he didn't go in there!!

Halloween is over girls!! Spooky stories!!!

Nothing happened in my house last night - or if it did I didnt notice!! Nothing much to report. Cold sunny morning, and at work at the mo. Tis dead quiet at work and there is nothing to do. Estate Agency is dead. We can thank the Home Information Packs and Christmas looming....

Oh well, will just make tea all day.

Have a good day all.

Yes, the HIP for our house is a pain in the bottom + will leave us £300 lighter It's a total waste of time for our house though; no loft insulation, no secondary glazing or sealed unit windows, draughty old doors and gaps between floorboards!

Thankfully nobody can do a thing about these lovely quirky things because the house is LISTED

A lot of homeowners havent got £300 up front to pay for HIPS this side of Xmas.

No idea what the benefits of the HIP is. All I can see is a money making exercise. No one has asked about the energy efficiency of ANY house we have on the market so no one is interested!!!

And agree you would not want to make your house any different just to get a higher rating Yola!!! As people buying your house would rather the period features than a higher rating!!

That's my point Donna - many people WILL panic into ripping out perfectly good windows and doors just to get a higher eco rating! At least my house is afforded some protection from the vandalism.

As for affording it; not really! I had to put it on a credit card which means November's brithday presents (OH, step-grandson and Mum) will be a little more meagre then they otherwise would have been

Afternoon, all! Cold weather across the entire East Coast; it's 7C right now, sunny and windy. Out normal high temp is 16! Brrrr! Creepy stories, Fran and Yola!
My arthritis flareup is a bit better today; still sore but not as much; have skipped the pain pill as I really hate strong medications like that.
Anyone remember the story I posted about the weirdo who threw gasoline on the bartender and set him afire? Well, they caught him yesterday!!!!!!
Enjoy the day, all!

Pleased to hear your arthritis is slightly better today Eileen, good idea to keep the pain pill in reserve for the very bad days

Terrific news that the gasoline nutcase has been caught ......has there been any news about the bartender?

Re: Daily Thread / Wednesday

Evening all
Reporting in late today . Had my hair done first thing this morning. Then I had to go to Mum's and check all was well there as she's off on a cruise.
I picked ceilidh up from school and made a dash to Darryle's work as he had no money, made the tea and finally putting my feet up for a bit.
It's been quite bitter here today, a right nip in the wind.
Still have the homework to go through . That can wait a bit though.

Fran I hope your intruders dont come back. I wonder why the dogs didn't bark. Was it windy?

Yola Your house doesn't want you to leave.

Eileen So glad they caught the guy.
