Re: Daily Thread/Friday

Shiftwork is really tricky isn't it! I have a friend that does nights but is working on getting her own business off the ground during the day; god knows when she gets time to sleep

Today I've got a colleague from CP coming to collect a untility-room full of books, clothes, toys, ornaments etc. Hopefully he'll come soon as I can't get through there! I need to run into town to pick up my watch from repair, get some dry cleaning and buy some more brown opaque tights as all my others are torn.

Sebi is currently in his cot as he was acting very tired, but he's complaining a bit so I'm not sure if he'll sleep. I hope he does and that he wakes up in a better mood!

Need to chase Homebase for our wooden worktops; been over 2 weeks since we ordered them and they said 2 weeks max leadtime.

Weather wet, dull and warmish.

Afternoon all. Sunny but chilly here 5 degrees. Been to the market; and don't have to rake leaves...my lovely neighbor at the end of the block came by with the leaf blower and did them!! How nice! Is everyone getting catalogues in the mail like mad? I must have gotten catalogues from everyone I've ever ordered from...got 9 yesterday, and they've been coming thick and fast!

Mags: are the new "green" Xmas lights available there? The ones that use less energy?

Enjoy the day.....

Yes Eileen, there are quite a few LED lights in the shops here now.........most of the ones I saw were blue. They are more expensive but well worth it for being energy saving...

Re: Daily Thread/Friday

I was going to post this earlier, but didn't have time! We bought the LED ones last year - white ones. They were such a disappointment! The light they gave off was so flat and dull and cold that this year I bought a long string of the standard ones.

There was just no sparkle, and the lights didn't seem to reflect in the baubles at all.

To be honest, we use the lights for a couple of weeks a year, and then only whilst we are in so I figure the carbon footprint is actually quite negigible compared to (for instance) the amount of cards and wrapping that goes in the bin each year, never mind the uneaten food!

Re: Daily Thread/Friday

Evening all

I slept most of the morning . Went to bed early, derek said he would take Ceilidh to school. I woke up at 11am . The thing is I could have gone back to sleep no problem . I didn't though.
Just the girls here this weekend as Derek's away with the TA.
Got a few bits in for Christmas but had to be very careful where I put them. I think this may be Ceilidh's last year believing in Santa.
Not sure what this evening has in store, probably Catsey and TV.
It's poured all day here and quite cold.
