Re: Daily Thread / Saturday

Up early after only a couple hours of sleep (late night + restless baby in the bed) Have almost completely lost my voice so am expecting the associated rotten cold any day now. I hope it's gone by Christmas.

Into town to get nails done for 10.30 and OH will replace the broken thermostat so the house should be warm again.

Re: Daily Thread / Saturday

Grumpy old OH dug me in the ribs this morning when the cats started banging on the bedroom door for their breakfast. "Quick, get up your alarm clock didn't go off!" I won't post my reply verbatim but it contained the words
!*#! @$, Saturday and %$!# in various combinations! It was, after all, only 6.20am!
I've just realised that yesterday was the last posting date for parcels so part of the morning has been spent wrapping things up. This of course meant the usual frantic hunt for bubble wrap, brown paper and the sticky tape that you know are in the house somewhere, if only you could remember where and when you last saw them!
Have a good day all.

Re: Daily Thread / Saturday

Afternoon all, have been to Weston today and by golly it was cold walking along the seafront... Went into the town and bought a few odds and ends, then had a nice roast lunch there. We then went on to the Garden Centre where I bought a Poinsettia and some cyclamen plants...
It was good to get back home into the warmth again!

I hope everyone is having a stress free day!

I haven't finished shopping for stuff that needs posting yet, let alone wrapped or posted any. I guess I've missed the last posting date for france by yonks then

Re: Daily Thread / Saturday

Hi, all! Freezing this morning (forgot to switch the weather link to Celsius!), and everyone is nervously waiting to see if the approaching storm will be rain, snow or (God forbid) ice! The meteorologists are still dithering, hope we don't lose power....
Went to the library and liquor store to stock up on books and gin in case we get iced in..

Fran: you did decide to get a tree? Oh wow, kitten pics!
MrsH: couldn't help but laugh at your description of your morning
Mags: good luck with the cyclamens! I love them but they don't like me! Never had any luck with them....

Stay warm everyone, and please send "no ice"vibes!

Re: Daily Thread / Saturday

Okay people Good afternoon.

Had a busy morning putting lights into the tree in the garden oh the joys I put myself through. Balanced up a ladder with one foot on a wall.... Still not properly finished just I was freeaing and my helpers deserted me for warmer clims of the house...watching through the window.
Picked up Christmas presents for Katie, Jack and Sophie. Realised today the smaller the present gets the more expensive
Sending non ice vibes to Eileen.
Will take a picture of the tree for my thread.
Been out and about but home and warm now...
Mags sounds like a lovely day you are lucky living close to the coast. I am landlocked here.
Yola hope you feel better.
Sorry for those who have missed posting, put them in anyhow you never know its a guide not a in stone request.
Hope everyone had a great day

Karen

Re: Daily Thread / Saturday

Evening all,
Been busy today doing nothing!!! . I'm having a duvet day .
Been chasing my tail all week but I think that's all my pressies bought. Not wrapped yet but I'm sure Caspurr and Abi will help .
They have been so good, they haven't touched the tree. I'm in shock.
Tomorrow Ceilidh has a party at Mum's bowling club and my niece is coming to pick up there pressies.

Re: Daily Thread / Saturday

Evening all. Not feeling too well, not that I am sick, just feeling washed out, probably just run down. My back still twinging and I just wanna sleep all the time. So turned all phones off and had very generous helpings of kitty cuddles, cat naps and telly.
The house is an absolute tip but it can wait I feel.
Hope every one else is well.
