Do you have a vet school near enough to you, which you could contact? It looks so unusual that a general practice won't have come across anything like it before.
Or contact Pet Plan and ask if the vet hospital they support might help, on a one-off basis.

Or just take the bull by the horns and insist it is "drained". She can't be comfortable like that

The cats owner says they have "been to vets twice inc senior vet & they have no idea"
The cat is in Grantham, Lincolnshire, UK
Can anyone recommend a vet in the area..thanks

Animal Health Trust is in Newmarket, but they would need a referal from their vet.
